CES 2021

Today we will discuss about the top announcements made at CES 2021 that all gamers should know.

Intel Core Rocket Lage

Intel announced the 11th generation of their processors, Intel ‘Rocket Lake’ . It will be based on the new Cypress Cove microarchitecture, a variant of Sunny Cove (used by Intel’s Ice Lake mobile processors)

Architecture changes in comparison with Comet Lake

  • Intel Cypress Cove CPU cores
  • Estimated 10 to 19%+ increase in IPC (instructions-per-clock)
  • Deep Learning (DL) Boost and AVX-512 instructions
  • Up to 20 CPU lanes of PCI Express 4.0
  • DDR4-3200 memory support
  • USB 3.2 Gen 2×2
  • Optional USB4 / Thunderbolt 4 when paired with Intel JHL8540 Thunderbolt 4 Controller

The first CPU announced is Intel Core i9-11900k, with 8 core and 16 threads.

NVIDIA announced at CES 2021 their new GPU: RTX 3060. They believe it will become the best-selling GPU, just as the GTX 1060.

The price will be very good, somewhere around $350, but it will not be launched until February. It remains to be seen how NVIDIA will deal with their stocks problems.

But that’s not all, the RTX 30 series will also appear on laptops! There are three new GPUs: RTX 3080, RTX 3070, and RTX 3060. There will be over 70 laptop models available with one of those GPUs. The first laptop will be available on January 26th.

The AMD Ryzen 5000 series of processors now comes on laptops as well. As we know, the Zen 3 architecture works very well on computers, so the expectations are high.

There will be ‘U’ CPUs (for low-power consumption) but also some monstrosities. The Ryzen 9 5980HX and Ryzen 9 5900HX. Equipped with eight cores and 16 threads, these chips are capable of 4.8GHz and 4.6GHz clock speeds, respectively.

In combination with the new NVIDIA boards, it would probably lead to a PC-like experience on a laptop. Imagine this!

The first laptops featuring AMD’s latest processors will start arriving in February.

RAZER comes with another strange new partnership, as it has already accustomed us all! It’s about… a mask.

Project Hazel is an N95-grade respirator, which Razer is naming the “world’s smartest mask”. A very futuristic design, I wouldn’t be surprised if in the new DLC from Cyberpunk 2077 you could see people on the street with this mask.
